Property Video rates

One of the most common questions among photographers (of any genre) is regarding rates: What do you charge?

Ironically (or perhaps what drives this is) one of the most tightly held secrets among photographers is regarding rates: What do I charge?

The Real Estate Photography (and Real Estate Videography) community is pretty tight-knit (which is rare in this industry) so, since this question comes up almost daily, I’ll step up and talk about it.

Property Video by Malia Campbell Photography

Standard Property Shoot: Up to 90 seconds, includes music, hosting and unique domain name – $300.00
Mid-Range Property Shoot: Up to 3 minutes, includes music, hosting and unique domain name – $500.00
Estate Property Shoot: More than 3 minutes, includes pre-planning session, music, narration and unique domain name – Custom Quote

Add narration to the Standard or Mid-Range package for $150.00

All music is legally licensed and I work with a professional Copy Writer and professional Voice Over Actors for the narration.  Turn around time is typically 48 hours from the shoot (add one additional day for narrated videos).

I host the videos on my YouTube channel (for that great SEO juice) as well as iPlayerHD, which delivers a fast, streaming video to all devices (computer, smart phones, iPads, etc).  With every video you’ll receive an embed code as well as a custom link for the property (ie: 123MainSt.com) for flyers, websites and sign riders.

  1. Hi Malia,
Thanks for having the guts to just come out and say what everyone really wants to know but are sometimes uncomfortable asking.

  2. Malia, That seems a very good and competitive fair rate. Extremely professional if your proving written copy written script, Licensed music paid voice-overs. I hope there is enough left over for you after expenses, to upgrade all this new video gear that you probably have your eyes set on?

  3. Very nice Melia. Your rate to me sound very reasonable to me. How would you compare the price of a still shot with the number of images to with what you can show in a 90 seconds video? Your example video above is 1:35 seconds. How much of your time when into making. Your cost for any extra hardware and software and future replacment of that equipment, and the big one. The time spent training of that equipment.
Like I said before. Your rates to me sound very reasonable and the bottom line is the product you give your clients high quality.
